Sarah

Certified Dyslexia Specialist

Sarah’s heart is devoted to nurturing children's learning, fostering growth, and cultivating their unique, individual talents. Sarah brings a wealth of expertise as a certified tutor proficient in the Barton Reading and Spelling System. Her professional journey encompasses roles as both an administrator and teacher within the public school system and private school system. She also taught at a private institution dedicated to working with students with dyslexia and language processing disorders. Sarah is a life-long learner who seeks continued knowledge of best practices and current research. Her enthusiasm radiates through her commitment to bolstering students' self-confidence. Sarah is passionate about creating interactive and engaging learning experiences that fuse education with fun and excitement, and seeing students light up from their achievements and accomplishments.

Janet

Janet is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Morris; she has a bachelor's degree in elementary education (K-6). She also has a certificate in early childhood education and has owned her own private preschool and private childcare business. She has been an executive director at Young People's Place Childcare Centers for ten years and also taught in a multi-age private elementary school.

Janet enjoys her flower gardens in the summer and plays the flute. She and her husband live on a farm in central Minnesota. They have five children, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Janet’s career has been devoted to teaching and encouraging children in their learning processes.

Myra

Myra has worked in education for eleven years and has taught reading and writing in grades K-6. She has her certification in Elementary Education K-6 and a Reading Specialist certification in K-12. She has also tutored students in the areas of phonics, reading comprehension and reading fluency. Myra has experience working with students with dyslexia, Autism and ADHD.

Myra loves working with students, especially helping them learn to read. She is passionate about reading and is always willing to take the time to help students achieve their goals.

Bridget

Bridget has been an instructor in grades K-5 in the public school setting. She has taught phonics, phonemic awareness and provided reading fluency interventions. Bridget believes reading is the cornerstone to all education. She loves helping children work to improve their reading skills and watching their confidence grow.

Teresa

Science and Literacy have been Teresa’s lifelong passions, guiding her steps forward in a career teaching online and in the classroom.  Teresa is a Michigan State University alum; she earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Natural Resources and Environmental Education, along with two Secondary Science degrees and a Master’s of Science.  

Engaging students with real-world topics is one of her specialities and she is a teacher of all age groups, Kinder-Adult.  Earth and Environmental Sciences are her favorite topics and are a great fit for struggling learners.  

All three of Teresa’s children are now adults and are pursuing careers in scientific fields.  Her personal hobbies include maintaining a Monarch Waystation, a place where visiting butterflies of all sorts can find food and shelter.  She prefers reading non-fiction and choosing subjects which can be woven into discussions with her students and their families.  

Donna

Donna has a Master of Interdisciplinary Studies in History and Education from Texas A&M - Texarkana. Her teaching experience spans diverse environments, including charter schools, preschools, community colleges, and museums. Donna’s journey into the Orton-Gillingham approach began nine years ago when her children were diagnosed with dyslexia.

Helping children with dyslexia has taught her the importance of supporting each other, especially young people, as they discover their strengths and learn the tools they need to navigate their lives.

Donna enjoys gardening, reading, hiking, and rescuing stray cats. Recently, her focus has extended to learning about native plant and animal species in her region. Donna joined her regional Master Naturalist program this year and looks forward to learning more over the next year.

Donna is passionate about creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where every student can flourish.

Patricia

Patricia is a graduate of The University of Memphis, having obtained a bachelor degree in special education and elementary education. She has taught 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades in both public and private schools throughout her career. She has tutored students in reading and math.

Spontaneous teachable moments with children, reading with children, and helping children become masterful readers, problem solvers and critical thinkers are all joys to Patricia. Her own love of learning makes her passionate about teaching.

Patricia and her husband live in Edmond, Oklahoma. They have two granddaughters who add excitement to their lives! They enjoy bicycling and going on hikes together. Patricia loves to garden, enjoys baking, likes to go antiquing, sews off and on throughout the year, and spends time reading when having coffee in the morning.
